COVID-19: active cases drop to 564

Fifty-four new cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) have brought Ghana’s cumulative total to 45,655.

However, active cases in the countries continue to decline, with a number of 564 as of Wednesday, September 16.

The total number of recovered / discharged is now 44,797, while the total number of deaths remains 294.

Information Minister Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah made it known at a press conference in Accra.

According to him, 16 people who arrived in Ghana after the resumption of international flights at Kotoka International Airport have also tested positive for the disease, although they arrived in the country with a negative PCR test.

He said four of them were currently admitted to designated health facilities, although they do not show any symptoms.
