Shoppers in England are flocking to make last-minute purchases before closing, which will see nonessential retailers close for a month.
The number of shoppers on Tuesday was up 19.1% compared to the same day last week, industry figures show.
The influx saw particularly large increases in shopping malls and shopping parks, according to Springboard.

He said “clearly there was panic buying” as people rush to buy Christmas gifts before stores close.
It occurs when social media users have reported long lines outside stores like Primark, Zara, and The Card Factory.
Clothing stores and card retailers are among the non-essential retailers that will have to close their doors for the close of one month starting Thursday, November 5.

Retailers such as John Lewis, Currys PC World, and the Entertainer toy chain have extended their opening hours to cope with increased demand ahead of the new restrictions.
Cary Grant, head of the Entertainer, told the BBC it was “like Christmas.” Its 173 stores are extending their hours until 7 p.m. or 8 p.m. starting at 5:30 p.m. and expect a quick trade until Wednesday night.
Shopping malls in particular have seen a huge increase in the number of customers entering their doors, with a 19.9% increase on Tuesday. Main streets and shopping parks followed with an increase of 19.1% and 18.4%.
