Kenya’s Ministry of Health announced on Monday that 69 more people had tested positive for Covid-19, bringing the number of confirmed infections in the country to 95,992.
The additional cases come from a sample size of 1,987 analyzed in the last 24 hours.
Of the cases, 53 are Kenyan while 16 are foreigners; 40 are men and 29 women. The youngest is a three-year-old boy while the oldest is 86 years old.
Cabinet Secretary for Health Mutahi Kagwe, in a statement to newsrooms, said that 98 patients recovered from the disease, 77 from the home care program, while 21 were discharged from various hospitals, raising total recoveries to 77,521.
However, six people succumbed to the coronavirus, bringing cumulative deaths to 1,664.
According to CS Kagwe, there are 673 patients admitted to various health centers across the country and 3,386 in isolation and home care.
Of those in the hospital, 34 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 17 of whom are on ventilatory support, 13 receive supplemental oxygen, while others are under observation.
