Coronation Street has released a new trailer of all the action we can expect to see airing in May.
It’s been a brutal month on the cobblestones, but it looks like there will be even more drama with all the characters on the street.
We have broken down the trailer for you with all the stories we are going to tackle in the coming weeks …
David risks his life
David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) has a habit of going down the path of self-destruction when something isn’t going his way. But in the new May trailer, it looks like this time it could put itself in real danger. For no reason at all, David heads to an unreliable farm and taunts some residents who are chasing him. Police officer Craig sees it all and seems to give him a good answer, but will the words sink in? Or is this the beginning of a dangerous route for David?
Yasmeen is heading to court
Poor Yasmeen Metcalfe (Shelley King) reached breaking point in early May when she stabbed the evil villain Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Bartholomew) in the neck. But he will pay for his actions, unlike Geoff, when he goes to court for his crimes. Granddaughter Alya says it is a “nightmare” and honestly it is. How will you prove your innocence?
Geoff turns the tables
Nasty Geoff is not going to help his wife out of this, while he is in the hospital recovering from his injuries, he screams about how Yasmeen tried to kill him. While we all know how fake it is, it definitely doesn’t look good for Yasmeen.
Asha’s problems continue
After the leak of her intimate photos, Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) has been a shell of herself. And it seems that her problems will not end soon, since she can be seen in the trailer in front of a group of teenagers, probably about to liquidate her. It seems that one particular resident has had enough and stands up … but who will be Asha’s ally? And will he ever get rid of his torment?
Shona returns
Shona Ramsey (Julia Goulding) finally returns to the cobblestones after her stint in the hospital for memory loss, and was unable to arrive soon enough. She is back just when David needs her the most, but can he offer help now that they are apart?
Leanne and Nick receive devastating news
Little Oliver has been in and out of the hospital for the past few weeks, but no one knows why. Leanne and Nick have been beside themselves with worry, but it looks like there will be more angst on the horizon as the couple can be seen sharing a worried look in one shot in the trailer. But why?
Gemma accepts her condition
After battling her demons in the past few weeks, Gemma will finally receive the diagnosis she was concerned about: she has postpartum depression. Of course Chesney is by your side and hopefully the world will be a little bit easier for our Gem now.
The Bailey family faces a battle.
Tensions have been strained between the Bailey family after James came out as gay and Ed disagreed. But in the advance of May, a new enemy could reunite them … Who are they arguing with? And because?
Evelyn makes her move
Unfortunately in love, Evelyn has been desperate to win over Arthur and a chance encounter in the pub seems to awaken her hope. Is this the beginning of something special?
