Majority Leader and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu would present the 2021 budget statement.
He is expected to present the 2021 Budget to Parliament on Friday, March 12, 2021.
The presentation of the budget is in accordance with article 179 of the Constitution of 1992 Public Financial Management Law of 2016 (Law 921).
In October 2020, Ofori Atta presented Expenditure 2021 on Advance Appropriation.
Public spending for the first quarter of 2021 was estimated at GHȻ27.34 billion, with total revenues and grants forecast at GHȻ13.3 billion, while total spending and arrears settlement at GHȻ24.01 billion.
YEN.com.gh previously reported that Ofori Atta had been transferred to the United States for urgent medical attention.
The ministry’s Public Relations Office revealed in a press release that Ofori Atta was suffering complications from her recovery from Covid-19 since December 2020.
“After recovering from Covid-19 last December, Mr. Ofori Atta has medical complications that doctors advise, requiring more interventions that are currently not available in Ghana,” added excerpts from the statement.
However, Ofori Atta was expected to spend two weeks abroad and return to appear before Parliament’s appointments to examine her portfolio.
