The Bono region’s National Democratic Congress (NDC) is demanding that the Akufo Addo government complete physically abandoned projects rather than deceptively mowing the lawn.
President Nana Akufo Addo on a 2-day tour mowed grass for different projects and announced that 817 and others have been completed and three new district hospitals have been completed in the region.
A statement signed by Bono’s NDC Regional Secretary, Dennis Twumasi takes a contrary view, challenging the president to provide evidence of the acclaimed projects and the communities benefited.
The Bono region of the NDC marvels at the callousness of the Akufo Addo government in taunting the people of the Bono region with deceptive virtual internet projects, while the physical projects started by the former Mahama administration rot.
Approximately 44 abandoned listed projects that the Nana-led government left in the region for the NDC Bond include: asphalting the roads of Sunyani city (25 km), maternity block in Sunyani, Cocoa roads in Botokrom – Nkyenkyemamu – roads of Brikasu, phase III of Berekum water project, Buoku Community Day School, block of 12-unit classrooms in Sacred Heart SHhS, Nsoatre among others.
The regional secretary of Bono asked the president to desist from the deception of the lawn mowing projects and rather explain why the abandonment of these projects. The statement further described the president’s act as evil.
“We call on Nana Addo to explain the reasoning behind her abandoning these fine and strategic projects initiated by the previous NDC government within the Region and proceeding with the mowing for exactly similar projects in the region.
It is wrong for a government to deliberately abandon similar incomplete infrastructure projects in the same constituency and proceed to mow the lawn for three months for the general election just to sway voters for reelection. ”
