The Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) has announced that the 2020 light cocoa harvest season will end at the close of business on Thursday 17 September.

The statement, signed by Joseph Boahen Aidoo, COCOBOD’s CEO, said that to help Authorized Buying Companies (LBCs) obtain final returns from inland stations, the Board decided that returns from declared purchases would be accepted until 1600 hours on Thursday, September 24, 2020.

Meanwhile, Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) Executive Director (CEO) Joseph Aidoo has announced that all is set to implement the Cocoa Farmers Pension Plan for all cocoa farmers across the country in October this year.

He said that the National Pension Regulatory Authority (NPRA) would be the administrators of the scheme, adding that the scheme would not only take care of cocoa farmers when they retire, but would ensure the sustainability of cocoa production in the country already. that young people would be attracted. to the cultivation of cocoa.

Aidoo said this on Monday when he paid a courtesy visit to members of the Western Region House of Chiefs to inform them of COCOBOD’s achievements and challenges and the way forward.
