Ms Stacy Amewoyi, founder of the ‘Stacy M. Foundation’, a non-profit humanitarian organization, has called on churches and their leaders to constructively criticize and condemn minor crimes in the political arena.

He said the Church must disapprove of politicians who were neither knowingly nor unknowingly pawns of the dark, nor agents of the light to promote an unholy agenda that was destructive to the country.

“What went wrong? Why are so many pulpits and pews silent today when it comes to church and politics and politicians? Why have we allowed the world to interfere so much with our doctrines that we remain silent even before evil? “

Ms. Amewoyi gave the advice in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, saying that Christians have a responsibility to lead the way and intercede in prayer to shape the nation.

“We should be angry with the evil sources that have taken over the hearts and minds of people to try to capture the soul of our nations. We must oppose demonic principalities and demonic principles that have influenced millennials with atheistic philosophies and doctrines of men, ”he reiterated.

The Founder referred to a great awakening preacher, Charles Finney, who in 1830 passionately called for an end to slavery in the pulpit.

His call, he said, was a setback for those who believed that pastors should not be political or turn the pulpit into something political, adding: “We must not and cannot keep silent.”

“We, as the church of Jesus Christ, are God’s restraining force in the world today against evil, and if the church doesn’t rise up and fight the good fight of faith, who will? If we abdicate our role and responsibility as ambassadors for Christ and agents of truth, then evil will triumph.

“If as Christians you believe that faith and politics don’t mix, and that pastors should stay out of it, it is too divisive. Then, with his apathy and reluctance, he is helping to promote the doctrine and dogma of the religions of other countries and of secular humanism to influence this nation instead of the values ​​and virtues of Christianity, “he said.
