The search and rescue operation on the collapsed church building in Akyem Batabi has come to an end.

According to the authorities, despite the conclusion of the operation a full investigation will be carried out to determine the cause of the accident and bring the perpetrators to account.

Speaking to reporters on the site on Friday, NADMO CEO Eric Nana Agyemang Prempeh, who officially shut down the search operation, said his team will work with agencies to investigate the incident.

“We want to assure you [DCE] that NADMO will coordinate all relevant agencies to support their call for investigations so that all the culprits are punished, “he explained.

The head of NADMO urged the assemblies to intensify the physical inspection of the properties to prevent them from happening in the future.

He also expressed his condolences to the families who lost relatives in the accident.
