Ghana winger Christian Atsu has lost his mother. The Newcastle star took to his social media pages to announce his mother’s death today.
He posted: “Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure, you are loved beyond words and we will miss you beyond measure as you left us today #RIPMum”.
The Newcastle United Twitter account and Atsu’s Black Stars teammate Felix Annan were among the first to react to their mother’s death.
In a 2018 interview, Atsu credited his mother with her strong religious background that continues to guide her career.
