The bosses and people of Chirano, in the newly created Northwest Region, have praised Zipline’s efforts in dramatically improving the provision of health care in their community.
Agnes Attah Amofa, the medical assistant for the only health center serving the residents of Chirano and its neighboring communities, says Zipline’s services have dramatically improved the delivery of medical care at its facilities.
“We have had several challenges at our facilities, especially in the area of unavailability of certain medications to treat patients. Our roads are not very good and this represents a great challenge if we need to refer patients to other health centers or hospitals for minor ailments that we could have handled well in our facilities. However, with the support of Zipline, we have seen a significant improvement. They supply a number of emergency medications including snake venom, adrenaline injection, and different types of infusions. With this support, it will be difficult for us to refer patients to other health centers simply due to the lack of availability of medical products. I have to say that we, the staff, are now also happy because we can depend on Zipline’s prompt response to match our customers. “
For its part, Chirano’s traditional Abakomahene council, Nana Yaw Acheampong III, says the community has seen an improvement in response to patient needs since being informed of Zipline’s support.
“I remember times gone by when the health center had to continually refer patients to a very conscientious hospital in Bibiani because we were told there were no medications available here in Chirano. But we hardly hear these references these days. Zipline has been of great help to the health center and the community as a whole ”.
