The Supreme Head of the Chereponi Traditional Area, Nanyame Kofi Malba VIII, praised the PNP government for implementing pro-poor policies and initiatives aimed at transforming the lives of people in the north.
These policies, he said, included; the ‘One-Village, One-Dam’, ‘Planting for Food and Jobs’, ‘One-District, One-Factory’, Free SHS, expansion of Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) to the vulnerable and dependent college graduate recruitment of the Nation Builders Corps (NaBCo).
Nanyame Kofi Malba expressed his appreciation when he welcomed Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to his palace in Chereponi.
The Vice President’s visit is part of his tour of the five northern regions to inspect and commission projects executed by the government.
“Your Excellency, we want to thank you and your government for all the good works you are doing to transform Ghana.
“His government’s various pro-poor policies and programs like One Village One Dam, One District One Factory, Free SHS, Planting for Food and Jobs, the expansion of the LEAP program, NABCO, the expansion of electricity to many communities rural areas among others are very commendable ”, emphasized the Supreme Chief of Chereponi.
Nanyame Malba highlighted the one village and one dam policy, which had provided essential water for livestock and extended the planting season and thus eliminated the annual ritual of near starvation and famine in the area.
“I also congratulate your government for providing Chereponi with a water system in the city and ensuring that our people get clean water to drink regularly,” he added.
The Supreme Lord of Chereponi also thanked the Akufo-Addo administration for successfully creating the Northeast Region, which is generating massive infrastructure development in the area.
“Dearest to the hearts and well-being of the people of Chereponi is the peace and harmony we currently enjoy. Chereponi chiefs and people are grateful to their government for these interventions and therefore for restoring peace and harmony in Chereponi, ”said Nanyame Malba.
Vice President Bawumia, for his part, assured that the government led by Akufo-Addo would even initiate more development projects in the area if it backed President Akufo-Addo for four more years in the general elections on December 7.
