Chelsea and Sevilla are preparing for their first European meeting against each other. The Blues crashed in the last 16 of the Champions League last season after a 7-1 win on aggregate against eventual champion Bayern Munich. Sevilla are back in the top European competition after winning the Europa League last season.
Chelsea, however, have added Champions League experience to their squad over the summer with the arrival of defender Thiago Silva and forwards Kai Havertz, Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech.
Blues boss Frank Lampard said: “It’s a great platform to learn because you are playing against the best and we are playing against the best at Bayern Munich.
“We were a young team last year, working hard to improve.
“The Bayern game was a great marker for the young players in the squad to realize the levels to be reached. I remember having it myself when I was young.
