Chelsea Transfer Roundup: Rice’s New Agent With Available ‘Dream’ Jersey Number – Ghana Latest Football News, Live Score, Results

[ad_1]

It would be easy to think that Chelsea’s summer transfer activity would lead to a very uneventful January.

But recent results haven’t been going well for Frank Lampard. Back-to-back losses to Everton and Wolves mean Chelsea is seventh.

There has also been a slight disappointment in a couple of signings that came a few months ago. Timo Werner has not shot full blast as predicted and Kai Havertz has not settled despite his talent.

Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva and Edouard Mendy, however, have had better starts to the season.

And so this leaves January, with Declan Rice as the top name dominating the headlines.

Here’s the latest transfer from Chelsea.

Rice agent change

The West Ham midfielder has been linked to Chelsea for some time, but a change of agents is likely to add fuel to the fire.

Why? Because his new agent is his father and he is the holder of a Chelsea season ticker.

According to The Athletic, Rice changed the address to his father Sean, who would surely love to see his son play in West London.

Rice’s ‘dream’ t-shirt number

So far, Rice has worn jerseys number five and eight for England and 41 for West Ham.

According to Football.London, Rice would have a good chance of keeping his beloved 41 jersey because it is a relatively rare number worn by Chelsea first-team players.

Number 5 is worn by Jorginho and number 8 is worn by Ross Barkley. The latter, however, is on loan at Aston Villa with his long-term future up in the air.

Lampard on January plans

What about the Chelsea boss himself? Lampard has been shy in his transfer plans and said so before West Ham’s game.

“First of all, I don’t know about January,” he said.

“I will consider January when I am here. So I have the team and we are working hard on the games that lie ahead.”
