Chelsea have turned down a bold offer from Bayern Munich for winger Callum Hudson-Odoi, Goal confirms.

The offer was for an initial loan but with a purchase option for £ 70 million ($ 89 million) in 2021.

The German giants are keen to include a purchase obligation as they try to convince Chelsea to ditch the 19-year-old, and Bayern have made their third approach to the player in the past four transfer windows.

The latest offer overshadows the latest rapprochement of the Champions League winners some 20 months ago, with a £ 35 million ($ 44 million) offer rejected at the time, as Hudson-Odoi appeared to leave after feeling frustrated by the football foul of the first team.

That was at a time when Maurizio Sarri was in charge, although Hudson-Odoi has returned to fight for regular first-team football with new coach Frank Lampard.

Indeed, Bayern made their interest in Hudson-Odoi public during Chelsea’s game against Crystal Palace, a game that started the England winger, and Hansi Flick confirmed that the Bavarians were still interested in signing him.

In reaction to that, Lampard insisted that he wants the player to remain at Stamford Bridge, but could not confirm that he would definitely stay awake.

“I think Callum’s performance, particularly in the second half when he got more aggressive, showed skill and rhythm. Callum is absolutely part of our plans here,” the Blues manager said after his team’s 4-4 win. 0 on Crystal Palace.

“There is no definitive answer [on Hudson-Odoi’s future], on Monday we will know if there is. Callum is our player, what Callum wants comes into consideration, it has to work for us. “

Chelsea are in control of the situation despite the rapprochement of the European champions, and the youngster signed a new five-year contract last year.

Lampard knocked out several senior stars in the victory over Palace, including Marcos Alonso, Emerson Palmieri, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Antonio Rudiger.

All four could leave Chelsea as they look to cut their squad after making six signings this summer, at a total cost of around £ 220 million ($ 275 million).

Rudiger is interesting Tottenham, West Ham, AC Milan, Inter and Paris Saint-Germain, while Alonso and Emerson are being attacked by Inter.

Meanwhile, Loftus-Cheek could also be allowed to go on loan as the Blues look to help the 24-year-old improve his fitness after a serious injury that ruined his 2019-20 campaign.
