Chelsea FC could lose the services of winger Christian Pulisic when they face Liverpool at the weekend, according to coach Frank Lampard.
The Blues started their season with a 3-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion on Monday night, but they did it without the USA international who has a hamstring problem.
“Christian was training with us last week, but he had a bit of discomfort a couple of days ago when he was trying to train with us and be in the fight for today.
“It would have been a big request today but he had to take a few steps back. That’s one of the things I don’t have big news for at the moment. We’ll see,” Lampard said after the game against Brighton.
Chelsea will face champions Liverpool on Sunday in a top-of-the-table clash with Jurgen Klopp’s side that began their season with a tough 4-3 win over newcomer Leeds at Anfield.
In Pulisic’s absence, Lampard started with all his major weapons in the Brighton game with Haverts and Werner all starting the game; The club also had to do without the new signing of Ziyech, who was injured in the preseason.
A reminder, Chelsea beat Brighton 3-1 without:
