Chelsea believe they are close to the landing of Manchester United star Angel Gomes.
The 19-year-old midfielder, a U-20 international from England, has recruited super agent Pini Zahavi, who is believed to have had conversations with Blues chief transfer officer Marina Granovskaia.
Gomes has no contract with United at the end of next month and has rejected a new deal worth £ 30,000 per week.
United are hoping to link the midfielder with a new contract, but Gomes wants regular first-team soccer after just six first-team appearances for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team this season.
