Red Devils legend says Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been “crying out” for a test leader who can lead the line at Old Trafford.
Edinson Cavani is capable of making a Bruno Fernandes-style impact at Manchester United, says Ryan Giggs, with the Red Devils “clamoring” for a proven center forward.
An experienced Uruguayan will tick that box for Old Trafford.
They signed him as a free agent and handed him a two-year deal, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer making a calculated bet on a 33-year-old with no prior life experience in English football.
Questions have been raised as to whether Cavani can make the desired impact for a Premier League heavyweight, but Anthony Martial hasn’t convinced everyone at No. 9 and Giggs believes a prolific South American will prove himself when he’s at full throttle.

“He has the experience. I hope, like Bruno, that he will make the players around him even better. “
Cavani was denied the chance to make his United curtsy in a Champions League clash with his former club Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday when he was placed in the fold, but Solskjaer’s side pulled off an impressive 2-0 win. -1 in that match.
The Red Devils were forced to make a number of changes for their first European game in 2020-21, but the tactical adjustments paid off as last season’s defeated finalists were defeated at the Parc des Princes.
Axel Tuanzebe, making his first start of the calendar year, was one of those who shone, and Giggs suggested that the 22-year-old could be a useful option for Solskjaer at various positions.

“We thought about playing with him in midfield when he was in shape, with Louis. He can read the game well, he’s fast, I think he showed it (against PSG).
“He has to play games, and when he does play, his confidence will grow because he has all the attributes to be a Manchester United midfielder.
“Now like I say, he has to do those games and once he does, it’s up to him to tell Ole, ‘I’m doing so well, you can’t leave me out of the team.
“That consistency, he has to produce performances like that over and over again. I’m sure that if he stays in shape, he will be a regular in the first team. “
