Dani Carvajal has admitted that he did not know if Sergio Ramos should have been sanctioned for handball against Eibar.
The Real Madrid captain was not penalized for the incident in the 82nd minute of Sunday’s game, despite Eibar’s penalty claims.
“We are not sure,” Carvajal said of the current handball law. “There are incidents … they gave Nacho a penalty [Fernandez] against Alavés, they did not give one against [Athletic Club’s Ander] Cover [on Tuesday]…
“If Sergio does it today with his hand and they don’t give it … that criterion must be clarified because we, the players, have doubts. We try to protest about everything.”
The match itself was close in Ipurua, with Karim Benzema, Luka Modric and Kike García scoring in the first half before Lucas Vázquez finished things off in the second.
“I think the way we started decided the game,” Carvajal said. “Going 2-0 up was very good, but I think we fought a lot in the second half.
“We wanted to close the game as soon as possible and, until Lucas’s goal, we couldn’t do it, but we were strong in defense.
“Eibar really makes you sweat. They press very hard and we weren’t comfortable. We fought to impose our game.” [onto them]. “
