Kwamena Mintah Nyarku is the NDC parliamentary candidate for Cape Coast North
Kwamena Mintah Nyarku, the NDC parliamentary hopeful for the Cape Coast North constituency, finally received his voter identification card from the regional office of the Election Commission but declined.
According to the party’s constituency secretary, Simon Gyekye, the candidate on the register remains disqualified and until the old information about him is removed and a new registration is allowed, they will not be satisfied.
“We are asking you to enter your system and any negative information that you have put regarding our candidate, in the registry, that information must be eliminated so that when we take the card we know that the card does not have any negative record. of it in your system, ”he said.
The district secretary revealed that party supporters have no plans to leave the regional office of the Electoral Commission and neither do any EC officials until their request is recognized, threatening that “until we leave, they will not leave here. we are very attentive. “
He mentioned that the only option available is a “new record or EC removes any negative information on the old card.”
The candidate for parliament for the Cape Coast North constituency on Thursday with some party supporters besieged the regional office of the Election Commission.
This follows the regional office’s refusal to hand over his card despite a ruling by a higher court in Accra on Tuesday.
Dr. Nyarku, who had come forward to obtain his card, was disappointed after being told that EC’s central office in Accra had not yet issued an order for his release.
