The parliamentary candidate for the New Patriotic Party (PNP) in the Odododiodoo constituency, Nii Lante Bannerman, has urged Ga’s traditional council, imams and other well-meaning Ghanaians to summon the area’s titular member of parliament, Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye, at the command following the violence that broke out over the weekend.
On Sunday October 25, 2020, some supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) clashed during a peaceful match, resulting in injuries to many.
Videos circulating on social media show supporters in party colors throwing rocks, bottles and other items at a crossroads called One Way in the Odododiodio constituency.
Reacting to this development in Citi News, the NPP parliamentary candidate for the constituency, Nii Lante Bannerman, accused the incumbent of inciting young people to cause chaos in the constituency.
Therefore, he asks the police and other eminent Ghanaians to call on his opponent to demand that peace prevail in the constituency before they take matters into their own hands.
“I call on the police, as a matter of urgency, to arrest the NDC thugs and let the law run its full course to deter their likes. Otherwise, we will have no choice but to take matters into our own hands. “
“I also call upon the Traditional Council of Ga, the clergy, imams and all well-meaning Ghanaians to call the violent parliamentarian to order.”
