Emilio Butragueño, former forward and current director of institutional relations at Real Madrid, has singled out Marco Asensio, among others, in praise after the club’s 2-0 win over Celta de Vigo on Saturday.
Asensio set up the first goal for Lucas Vázquez, who returned the favor for his teammate for the second goal at the end of the break.
“Lucas and Marco played an important role in the game,” Butragueño told Movistar +. “I think this is very good news.
Asensio comes from a very serious injury. Now, in the last matches, he is playing at an optimal level.
“As for Lucas Vázquez, we know that he always gives 100 percent. His physical and solidarity effort is constant.”
Nacho also impressed against Celta, replacing Sergio Ramos alongside Raphael Varane in the center of defense.
“He was impeccable, he’s always a guarantee and he showed it again today,” Butragueño said of the defender.
“He was very focused on all aspects during the game [and] very confident in all your decisions. He has shown his ability. “
Butragueño also offered his assessment of the game, which Celta reached after good results with Eduardo Coudet.
“We are happy with the victory, it was very important for us,” added Butragueño. “We played a serious game, very solid in defense.
“The victory was deserved. We were facing a team in very good shape, which plays football very well.
