The Bryan Acheampong Foundation, as part of its educational program, has donated textbooks and exercise books to all Kwahu East District middle and high schools on March 2.
Workbooks were presented to all students from JHS1 to JHS3 in all schools in the district, while the textbooks were presented to the principals of each of the high schools for use in the various school libraries.
The donation is part of the Foundation’s efforts to support teaching and learning within the district.
The donation includes 20,000 exercise books and 1,000 textbooks.
Speaking at the award ceremony at the district office of education in Pepease, the District Director of Education, Mr. Robert Anddah Monney expressed his deep gratitude to the Foundation for its continued support to improve teaching and learning within the district. . He stressed that if quality education is to be achieved, then learning must be our focus and for learning to take place effectively, materials and logistics must be available. He went on to say that both human and material resources are essential to transform education within the district.
The Bryan Acheampong Foundation Development Director, Mr. Frank K. Armoo, emphasized the Foundation’s commitment to supporting education within the district through the ongoing provision of incentives and the awarding of its signature motivational scholarships. Her focus, she noted, is to partner with management to ensure that school-age children receive the best tuition assistance, which will help them discover their learning potential and improve their overall academic performance.
He also expressed gratitude to some people who had made a commitment to support the foundation and pledged to contribute in various ways to this educational push. Special thanks were expressed to Mr. John Kumi, an Accra-based publisher, who donated a good number of textbooks for this cause.
A total of twenty thousand (20,000) exercise books were donated to 45 elementary schools in the seven circuits and 1,000 textbooks to seven (7) secondary schools in the Kwahu East district.
Since its inception in 2017, the Foundation has contributed to improving the education sector through programs and projects such as the distribution of more than 24,000 school uniforms to students across the district, from kindergarten to JHS level 3.
The graduate scholarship program for teachers currently has 120 beneficiaries of which 70 will graduate in March of this year.
The undergraduate scholarship scheme that currently supports just over 50 students from the Kwahu enclave and the Mentees program that supports more than 200 bright but needy students across the district; provides them with tutoring, career guidance, and financial support for clothing, educational materials, etc. They also benefit from various forms of support for family life.
