Bruno Fernandes, unhappy with Manchester United’s summer window

Duncan Castles believes Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes has been frustrated by the club’s transfer activity this summer, speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast (h / t The Express).

United have endured a difficult summer in which they failed to secure Jadon Sancho. The Borussia Dortmund star was the club’s priority signing, but the club was unable to reach an agreement.

A late flurry on the day of the deadline allowed us to secure deals for Edinson Cavani, Alex Telles, Facundo Pellistri and Amad Diallo.

“Fernandes is angry with the club because what they did in the summer does not match his expectations of what would happen when he arrived.”

Fernandes has been frustrated since his humiliating 6-1 loss to Tottenham Hotspur. The 25-year-old was retired at halftime in favor of Brazilian star Fred.

The result has led to speculation that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could be replaced by Mauricio Pochettino if results do not improve.

Castles has revealed that Fernandes is one of United’s stars who remain unconvinced in the Norwegian’s ability to bring United success.

“It doesn’t feel like [Solskjaer] he’s strong enough to lead the team and he doesn’t have the ability to push the players they have forward in the direction they should go.

Possible successors to Solskjaer

The report goes on to state that United also has an interest in Massimilano Allegri. However, they have not been in contact with the former Juventus coach.

Castles’ revelations point to a divided team and under leadership that doesn’t seem to inspire much faith.

United have won just three of the possible nine points so far in the Premier League this season. We have been widely outclassed in all three games so far and we will need to improve if we are to improve on what we achieved last season.
