Brendan Rodgers won’t be sorry for any game clash, because he told his team to be ready for anything.
The Leicester City boss will not follow the path taken by Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp in complaining about the schedule.
The Foxes have ten games over the next five weeks, including their Europa League commitments, and they are preparing for a difficult period.
Rodgers has reported that long-term injury casualties Ricardo Pereira, Wilfred Ndidi and Caglar Soyuncu have returned to training, which will boost the former Premier League champions.
But he refuses to join the chorus of disapproval towards the heavy workload.
He said: “It will not be different, there will be many games. There are eight or nine in December. Those who are close together will be a tough question, as they always are.
“The players have known from the start of the season that we have to be prepared every day, we talk about it.
“That with European football we have recovered well and we have adapted, we are enjoying it a lot, by the way, so you know that you have to be physically and mentally prepared and be well in the league.
“You have to keep that humility. You can never say that because it’s going well in Europe that you can never be less than 100% and we will be ready for Fulham.”
Rodgers was part of Jose Mourinho’s back room at Chelsea when Cottagers boss Scott Parker was in the playing corps at Stamford Bridge.
He says he is not surprised, whether the former England midfielder has moved into management, or is making a good fist at Craven Cottage.
He said: “Scott came to Chelsea with Claudio. He arrived about a year before me. He was a very good thinker of the game. He did well with Chelsea, but wanted to play more.
“I was not surprised that he became a coach and the work he has done at Fulham has been first class.”
