Young Ghanaian Joseph Paintsil has completed his move to top-notch Turkish Ankaragucu in the quest for playing time, Ghanasoccernet.com can reveal.

The 22-year-old sealed the loan of Belgian giant Genk on Thursday after days of negotiations between the player and representatives of the Turkish national team.

Paintsil passed a medical exam with Ankaragucu earlier this week, but could reach an agreement on his personal terms on Thursday.

The SuperLig team has signed the talented attacker on loan until the end of the 2020/2021 campaign.

Paintsil was out of Genk manager Hannes Wolf’s plans for the 2020/2021 season, paving the way for him to demand a move so he could have more playing time.

Paintsil, who joined the Belgian team in a four million euro deal, has not had the playing time to impress.

The Ghanaian, who came together with great promise, has struggled for a regular playing time, leaving the decision to part ways with him.

Ankaragücü coach Fuat Çapa had already been in contact with the Belgian club during the season’s loan for the 22-year-old forward.

Paintsil joined Genk in July 2018 from Tema Youth FC of Ghana after a successful loan spell at Ferencvàrosi TC of Hungary.

Ghana’s under-23s scored just once in the Belgian top flight last season, participating in 18 games.
