Brazilian giants Vasco da Gama have confirmed talks about their interest in signing Ghana star Latif Blessing.
The president of the club, Alexander Campello, confirmed it but explained that they have difficulties to finalize the transfer.
Former Ghana Premier League top scorer is not the club’s only goal, as Vasco also wants to sign former Manchester United star Antonio Valencia.
“We have not given up on (Antonio) Valencia or (Latif) Bendición, we keep trying, talking, there are some difficulties but we are working. We will always seek reinforcements without doing anything crazy, without getting out of economic austerity that is so important for the club ”, explained the president of the Rio de Janeiro club in an interview for the Machão da Gama program.
The 23-year-old has caught the attention of the South American team after an excellent moment in the Major Soccer League.
The talented Ghanaian is being courted to move to Brazil, at least for an initial loan deal amid the uncertainty surrounding his long-term future.
Blessing is reported to be unresolved in the United States as his wife has yet to obtain a travel visa to enter the country.
Latif began his career in Ghana and was voted the best player in the national league in 2016. That same year, he was the top scorer with 17 goals.
In 2017 he moved to Kansas City and the following season he moved to Los Angeles FC.
In total, since his first season as a professional in the United States in 2017, he has played 103 MLS games.
Last season he dominated 34 games, 29 of them as a starter. He scored five goals and gave six assists.
