Braithwaite and other Denmark players forced into isolation due to COVID-19 – Ghana soccer latest news, live scores, results

Barcelona forward Martin Braithwaite, seven other Danish players and the Danish team’s coaching staff have to isolate themselves in a hotel after two positives were detected in the camp.

Winger Robert Skov and a physical therapist tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday and, as a precautionary measure, everyone who had contact with them in the hours before has gone into self-isolation. That includes Braithwaite.

Therefore, none of those who isolate themselves will be available for the game against Sweden in Copenhagen that will take place on Wednesday night. However, they could participate in the other games in the country this week if they test negative.

Both Skov and the physiotherapist were asymptomatic and had already left the Danish camp.

The coronavirus also left Denmark without players like Kasper Schmeichel or Andreas Christensen for this November international break, due to movement rules in the UK.

Braithwaite hasn’t played much for Barcelona this season and was eager to earn significant playing time with his country. So far in 2020/21, he has won just 40 minutes with his club in five substitute appearances.
