Antonio Conte eager to meet Chelsea star Emerson Palmieri at Inter Milan
According to the Italian publication, Corriere dello Sport Via Sport Witness (h / t Football.london), former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is eager to meet Emerson Palmieri at Inter Milan.
The defender has found opportunities hard to come by at Chelsea with Frank Lampard. With Ben Chilwell firmly entrenched as the club’s first-choice left-back, that is unlikely to change anytime soon.
This has seen Emerson tied with a return to Italy, where he previously spent three seasons with Roma.
Having drafted a lot in the summer, the Blues are ready to trim their squad in the January transfer window. According to the report, Emerson or Marcos Alonso will have to bite the bullet in the new year.

And Inter Milan could be willing to give him a way out, as Conte seeks to reconnect with the Italian international. Juventus has also been touted for being interested in securing the player’s services. Chelsea, for their part, are not averse to parting ways with the Italian in January.
However, as confirmed by the player’s agent, the Blues are not willing to approve a deal that will not see them benefit monetarily.
Having joined from Roma in 2018, Emerson has been unable to consolidate his position in the Blues team. A return to his homeland could help rekindle a career that has become stale in London.
