Donald Duke, the former governor of Cross River State, has alleged that most of the weapons used by Boko Haram terrorists are obtained from security agents.
Duke said this, even when he asked the federal government to investigate law enforcement and remove the rotten eggs.
“The Boko Haram insurgents who have been responsible for the most heinous crimes obtain their weapons from security agents.
“Most of the weapons used by Boko Haram come from our arsenal, we will have to investigate that. Why are we selling weapons to the enemy? Duke questioned while speaking on Channels Tv.
Duke also recommended that the federal government motivate soldiers and police in the Northeast to achieve results.
The former governor said: “I think that the soldiers of the Northeast are not very motivated, the government should motivate them.
“We need to entrust them with intelligence gathering. More intelligence than firepower.
“Also, at this point, we need to develop a strategy on kidnapping. Are the police properly motivated? I doubt it, and they don’t have enough weapons. “
