The Bodi District office of the National Health Insurance Plan (NHIS) under the National Health Authority in the North Western Region has registered 20,506 people under the Plan for the 2020 health year.

NHIS Acting Bodi District Manager, Alex Gyawu Asante, said the Scheme had embarked on an outreach program to achieve its goal.

Mr. Asante, who is also the Public Relations Officer for the Scheme, said that joining the NHIS in Bodi District was challenging.

This is because the communities under their jurisdiction are dispersed and the movement of the various communities to the District office was difficult.

He said that people passed through the Juabeso and Wiawso districts before reaching Bodi, which he noted was a challenge for the members.

Mr. Asante said that the NHIS therefore turned to the community registry to register many people.

“We normally go to the various communities in our areas of influence to register or enroll our people on the platform so that we can achieve our goal by 2020,” he said.

He advised NHIS members, especially those in the Bodi district, to continue to renew their expired cards through the NHIS mobile renewal process.
