Founder of Perez Chapel International, Bishop Charles Agyinasare has urged the president of the Electoral Commission (EC), Jean Mensa, to remain neutral in the performance of her duties in the upcoming December elections.
According to him, the unique nature of this year’s elections demands that she remain exceptionally neutral and impartial throughout the electoral process to prevent the country from sinking into chaos.
He said, “This is a very interesting election because we have a former president who has one term and we have a sitting president who has also served one term, and everyone wants to have a second term. So this is an election that makes history and I will encourage the EC to put its face like a flint and do it and be neutral. “
The bishop who made the comment on JoyNews’ Beyond The Lockdown asked Jean Mensa to follow the example of his predecessors; Afari Gyan and Charlotte Osei and they do the best they can to fulfill their mandate.
He warned her that she stands firm in conducting fair, transparent and peaceful elections and to avoid being misled to comply with the orders of any political party.
“The EC should follow the example of these people [Afari Gyan and Charlotte Osei] and do the best you can. She must leave a legacy of being a very neutral referee. Sometimes you see that people think that when women are in positions like that they can become puppets or they are puppets. She should show that she is not a puppet, ”Bishop Charles Agyinasare said.
We want to have peaceful elections; we don’t want to see vigilantes, we should grow above that.
