Bisa Kdei’s soundtrack for “Jingle Jangle” wins a NAACP nomination

The soundtrack for Bisa Kdei’s remix of “Asew” in the American Christmas movie “Jingle Jangle” has been nominated for the 2021 National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NACCP) awards.

The awards honor outstanding performances by people of color in film, television, music, and literature.

The award-winning Ghanaian artist has been nominated for Best Soundtrack / Compilation Album on Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey alongside several artists.

Other nominees for that category also include Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom (Music from Netflix Movie) – Branford Marsalis (Milan), The First Ladies of Gospel: The Clark Sisters Biopic Soundtrack – Donald Lawrence (Relevé Entertainment), Soul Original Motion Picture Soundtrack – Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross, Jon Batiste and Tom MacDougall (Walt Disney Records), among others.

Artists such as Trevor Noah, Nicco Annan, Davido, Adjoa Andoh, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Michaela Coel, and Yvonne Orji have been nominated in various categories.

The 52nd edition of the awards event will air on BET, CBS, and MTV on Saturday, March 27, 2021.
