Ben Acheampong, the former Zamalek player who has been cheated by the club with more than $ 1.1 million, has revealed how the Egyptian giant collaborated with an agent to trick the Ghanaian embassy in Egypt into signing a contract at his Name.
Zamalek, in a letter to FIFA, had announced an “agreement with Nader El Sayed, Acheampong’s agent in which the player had allegedly agreed to accept only $ 250,000 of the amount owed to him instead of the 1.1 millions of dollars.
Nader El Sayed had claimed to represent the Ghanaian footballer from 2016 to date.
“The player is my player from 2016 until now and all agreements and authorizations are official and documented,” El Sayed told BBC Sport Africa.
Acheampong stated otherwise saying that Nader El Sayed, was no longer his representative since 2018 and had no power to negotiate any deals on his behalf after Zamalek’s letter stating that the player’s agent had agreed to take the $ 250,000.
Nader El Sayed then, after the CAS ruled on the matter, asked the Ghanaian embassy in Cairo to stamp a document with Acheampong’s name that was rejected by Ghanaian officials.
According to the BBC, El Sayed had explained to Ghanaian officials that Ben Acheampong had not been present because he had contracted COVID-19 that the player denied those claims.
The documents were to confirm Acheampong’s approval to agree to take the $ 250,000 that it said was forged.
Acheampong reported the club to the Court of Arbitration for Sport for “immoral”, “intimidating” and “ruthless” behavior.
After several months, the CAS ordered the club to pay the former Wa All Stars player the money it owed him, but the forward has yet to receive a penny from the Egyptian club.
