Journalists are meant to be independent and objective observers of government and not party politics, but Kojo Frempong abandoned his several years of media practice to venture into serious politics.
The seasoned journalist, after working with some popular media outlets, including TV3 Network Limited, established an interest in representing the Wenchi people in parliament on the NPP ruling ticket.
Kojo Frimpong, who was present at the launch of the NPP Manifesto in Cape Coast, revealed that since childhood he has been a staunch member of the ruling party because he comes from Wenchi, the home of New Patriotic Party kingpin Dr. KA Busia, his godfather.
“If you’re from Wenchi, it’s like someone born in Ketu South in the Volta region, you definitely know where you belong. Because Wenchi is where Dr. Busia comes from, who is part of the founding fathers of the Danquah-Busia-Dombo nuclear power plant. “
“So the nuclear power plant has a solid backbone that can be found in Wenchi. From childhood I realized that my entire family were strong members of the NPP. “
“We, the supporters of Dr. Busia, who has become an idol and godfather to all of us who come from Wenchi, are intrinsically NPP,” Kojo Frimpong said in an interview monitored by MyNewsGh.com.
The former sports host lost to Acting Member of Parliament Professor George Yaw Gyan-Baffour after his first attempt.
He graduated last year from the prestigious Harvard University in the USA.
