Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has commissioned an ultra-modern sports complex at New Fadama in Accra.

The sports complex, funded by the Zongo Development Fund, saw the complete transformation of the former New Fadama Park, and has been named in honor of the National Chief Imam, an illustrious son of the community.

With the construction of the complex, the Akufo-Addo government has built 29 astro lawns across the country in four years, and ten of the 29 are located in Zongo communities across the country.

Dr. Bawumia explained that President Akufo-Addo, as a former soccer player in his youth, recognizes Zongos as a center for soccer talents, hence his government’s decision to invest in the privatization of parks and stadiums. soccer teams to help unearth, nurture and promote more talent in Zongo communities.

The vice president stated that the transformation of the once dusty and grassless Parque Fadama into an ultra-modern complex for the youth of Fadama, is part of President Akufo-Addo’s broader vision to prioritize and accelerate the development of Zongos, using the Ministry.
