Former President John Agyekum Kufuor’s wife, Theresa Kufuor, turned one more year today, Sunday, October 25, 2020.

The former first lady has reached the ripe old age of 85 in this land and many have turned to social media to celebrate her.

One of the first people to celebrate Ms. Kufuor at her milestone is Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

In a morning post on his official Facebook page, Dr. Bawumia shared a beautiful photo of Aunt Theresa, as Ms. Kufuor is affectionately called.

The photo shows the former first lady looking gorgeous in a colorful ‘kaba and slit’ kente.

Sharing the photo, whoever described Ms. Kufuor as ‘mom’ prayed for God’s blessings, protection, good health and long life for her.

“Happy 85th birthday to our mother, Mrs. Theresa Kufuor, former First Lady of the Republic. Aunt Theresa, may God continue to bless you, protect you and grant you good health and long life. Happy birthday mom.”

Bawumia’s post has had many Ghanaians on social media joining him in celebrating Ms Kufuor’s birthday.

The former first lady and her husband have been together for almost 60 years after their wedding in 1962.

Ms Kufuor is a midwife by profession and lived most of her working life in the UK after studying at Radcliffe Infirmary, Oxford and Paddington General Hospital, London, and qualifying as a state certified midwife with a Certificate in Premature Nursing.

Born Theresa Mensah, she is the younger sister of the late NPP stalwart JH Mensah.
