Barcelona superstar Arthur Melo has closed the door on a possible move to the Premier League after promising his future at Camp Nou.
Brazilian midfielder Melo has been linked with several English clubs, while Italian giants Inter Milan and Juventus have also been watching him.
But the 23-year-old has been told that he is a key part of Barcelona boss Quique Setien’s long-term plans, and that he is enjoying the opportunity to flourish against the Spanish giants.
Melo said: “There will always be rumors, but honestly I am very clear about the fact that the only option that interests me is to stay in Barcelona, I am really safe and relaxed about it.”
“I feel very comfortable here and I thank the club and the coaching staff for the faith they have placed in me. That is another reason that makes me totally sure that all I want to do is stay here.
“The rumored interest of the big clubs is always flattering to anyone and is a good sign, but my mind is totally focused on being here for many years.
“Barça is the club I have always wanted to be in and I want to continue being Azulgrana for a long time, that is above everything else.
“Every day I feel more at home here, in the team, around the club and in the city. I also love the people and the culture here and I really feel the support of the fans.
“I am 100% focused on working and I want us to come back and play whenever we can because I am eager to continue improving here and fighting for more silverware in a Barcelona jersey.”
Barcelona are ready to listen to offers for Croatian midfielder Ivan Rakitic and fellow veteran Arturo Vidal who could put English clubs on red alert when the transfer window reopens.
