Ronald Koeman has urged his Barcelona bosses to seal a double Premier League raid for Gini Wijnaldum and Eric Garcia in January.
Koeman wanted to bring Liverpool midfielder Wijnaldum and Manchester City defender Garcia to the Camp Nou for the summer.
But Barça, with liquidity problems, could not get the money to tempt either club to sell.
Now Koeman wants the pair in January, and also continues to target former Manchester United striker Memphis Depay from Lyon.
All three players are out of contract next year and the Barcelona manager hopes his club can raise enough money to seal a trio of deals.
Koeman confirmed: “Our interest in Wijnaldum is strong.
“I wanted to bring him here in the summer because he has the ability to make fantastic runs from midfield and show up in the area at the right times.
“I am convinced that he can really contribute something to the team. But the economic situation of Barcelona was known in his club ”.
Koeman added: “There is a possibility that we will have another opportunity for Garcia.
“But right now I can’t know how the club’s finances are in January so I have to wait and see.”

United still have the option to buy back Depay, but Barca had a contract ready for the Dutchman to sign in the last transfer window.
Koeman said: “Everything was ready, but due to La Liga rules we knew we had to sell first before we could sign our goals.
“In the end it was not possible. It was disappointing, but Memphis knew how the situation was at Barça ”.
Depay has scored 58 goals in 144 appearances for Lyon since his £ 16 million transfer from United in January 2017.
