Barcelona has issued a statement on the VAR following their defeat to Real Madrid in the El Clásico on Saturday at the Camp Nou.
The Catalan giants were enraged during the match after the VAR sanctioned a penalty for a jerk from Clement Lenglet’s shirt to Sergio Ramos.
Ronald Koeman was enraged after the game because he didn’t think it was “enough” for a penalty and noticed how Ramos has fallen forward rather than back.
According to Sport, Barça is also angry because assistant referee Martínez Munuera warned that it was not a penalty because “Sergio Ramos had fouled Clement Lenglet first.” However, the referee paid no attention and pointed to the place.
Barça has now issued a statement highlighting its dissatisfaction with technology.
The Board considers that, in the cases of identical or very similar game situations, the VAR has not upheld the essential criteria of ethics and fairness, which has had a serious negative impact on FC Barcelona and has benefited its most direct rivals .

President Josep Maria Bartomeu also spoke about the controversy at a press conference on Monday night. He said the club “is aware” of the conversation between the referee and his assistant and plans to study it and take measures that are “in the best interest of Barça.”
