Barcelona beat Alavés 5-1 last night at the Camp Nou and trained in a recovery session this morning. Gerard Piqué and Ronald Araujo, perhaps the two best center-backs in the club, continued to recover from their respective injuries by participating in such training and could be ready to play against PSG.
Araujo was injured against Real Betis, suffering a sprained left ankle, but seems to have recovered quickly. The Uruguayan has been immense since Piqué suffered his injury against Atlético de Madrid, emerging as one of the best defensive prospects in the European game. He is more advanced in his recovery than the veteran Piqué.
The next few days will make a big difference in understanding whether one or both can pull it off, with Barcelona concerned about PSG’s attacking ability. If they cannot, the four in the back must be composed of Jordi Alba, Sergino Dest, Samuel Umtiti, Clement Lenglet and Oscar Mingueza.
