The Deputy Secretary General of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) believes that ballots may be compromised by the company that prints them because the CEO of the company is a member of the PNP.
Ghana’s state publisher, led by David Asante of the Let My Vote Count Alliance (LMVCA), won the tender to print the ballot papers for the impending elections.
But speaking on Kumasi-based Akoma FM, in an interview supervised by MyNewsGh.com, Peter Otokunor believes that ballot papers may be compromised by the press because its chief executive has a soft spot for the ruling nuclear power plant.
“We, the NDC, have issues about why Ghana Publishing Company wins the tender to print the ballot papers for the Election Commission because the CEO of the same company that prints the ballots for the 2020 elections is a staunch member of the NPP, “he said.
Adding that “on this premise, there is a tendency that transparency and neutrality can be questionable and could damage the credibility of the electoral verdict.”
