Awingobit Floored, David Apasera chosen as standard bearer

David Apasera has been elected standard-bearer of the National People’s Congress (PNC) at the party’s National Delegates Conference held on Wednesday, September 30.

He obtained 1,315 votes compared to 789 votes for Samson Asaaki Awingobit.

His other contender, Reverend Samuel Adjei Baah, got 465 votes.

Meanwhile, Bernard Mornah has lost his bid to retain the presidency of the National People’s Convention (PNC).

After collecting votes from the 16 regions of the country, Mornah got 1,266 votes while Moses Dani Baah got 1,297.

In his award speech, Mr. Mornah wished the new leadership the best and expressed his hope that they will make the PNC a better political party.

“I wish Moses Dani Baah, David Apasera and the rest of the team that he is elected the best in his tenure. I am hopeful that where we fail they will succeed and where we succeed they will magnify. Above all, I am hopeful that they will make the PNC a better political party than the one they have inherited.
