Audio has surfaced about the fight between Asamoah and Baffour Gyan, who allegedly assaulted his tennis opponent, on Thursday.
Godwin Martey, the CEO of Websoft Solutions, has accused Asamoah Gyan and his brother, Baffour Gyan of assaulting him during a tennis match at 37 Army Officer’s Mess tennis court on Wednesday.
He said the game between him and the former Black Stars captain, which was arranged by a mutual friend, took a sour turn after he noticed the referee, Baffour Gyan, was making certain decisions, not in his favor.
Mr. Martey said that some points that he was supposed to be awarded were in his favor and that his brother gave Asamoah Gyan.
“Most of these controversial points that were in my favor, Baffour Gyan was giving the point to Asamoah Gyan. At one point, I felt a bit uncomfortable with that.
“So there was one point in particular that it was obvious to me that the ball was okay, and Baffour Gyan insisted that the point was for Asamoah Gyan.”
The CEO of Websoft Solutions said that although viewers agreed with him, he did not receive any support from them due to who Asamoah Gyan is.
After observing this for some time, Martey said he was not happy and asked that a proper tournament be organized with a match commissioner and a neutral referee to ensure fairness for both parties.
After telling them this, he said that Baffour Gyan yelled at him in “a very aggressive tone” saying, “My friend shut up and stay there and play.”
Feeling intimidated by the furious spurs, he abandoned the game and sat on the sidelines.
From his account of the incident, Baffour Gyan continued to yell at him angrily.
Baffour Gyan is said to have charged Godwin, continually slapping him and insisting that he return to the game.
