Ashanti pastors, chiefs and professionals welcome Bawumia and his wife for a New Years luncheon

The top religious leaders, chiefs and professionals of the Ashanti region have hosted Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and his wife Samira Bawumia for lunch on New Year’s Day.

This was after the second gentleman and his wife joined various congregations in the region to usher in the New Year with a call to continue supporting the Akufo-Addo-led government to continue developing the country with various policies and programs. .

Dr. Bawumia, who assured Garden City residents of the NPP government’s continued support, reiterated the party’s determination to develop the country regardless of the religious and ethnic backgrounds of Ghanaians.

He underscored the importance of religious tolerance that has made Ghana one of the most peaceful countries in West Africa and emphasized that the credit goes to citizenship.

“Today, due to religious acceptance and tolerance, Ghana has been considered one of the most peaceful countries in West Africa and this is the merit of all of us and, most importantly, of almighty God,” he said on the eve of the New Years Power Chapel Worldwide, Kumasi Branch.

According to him, the recently concluded elections are a test case of the country’s achievements in democracy, praising citizens for the various roles they played.

“The 2020 elections were just another opportunity to test the strength of Ghana’s democracy and fortunately we navigated peacefully and successfully.

“The devil was not allowed to destroy this country… the devil is a liar. The Ghanaians elected Nana Akufo-Addo and the PNP. We thank God for the victory … the battle is still the Lord’s, ”he said.
