Asante Kotoko CEO Nana Yaw Amponsah has admitted that his team does not use the Baba Yara sports stadium.
The stadium has been under renovation since the beginning of last year and as a result the Porcupine Warriors have had to relocate to the Accra sports stadium.
This season, Kotoko has played all of her home games in Accra, most of which have been behind closed doors due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
Speaking on Adom TV, Amponsah called playing away from Kumasi a challenge for the club this season.
“Look at the challenges we’ve been through, playing away from home from the entire first round and going forward, it will continue for a while.”
“We have not played a game from where we called our home. Look at the other team going through the same thing, King Faisal; you see how they are fighting. We need the Baba Yara Stadium as soon as possible and I know the authorities are working on it. “
The Porcupine Warriors currently have the fourth worst home record this season, scoring 11 points from seven games.
Amponsah believes that his team must return to Kumasi as soon as possible.
“We need the stadium since yesterday because it is our home,” he said.
Kotoko will face Eleven Wonders when the second round of the Ghana Premier League resumes.
