Ghana’s Legon Cities have suffered another setback when legendary Ghanaian striker Asamoah Gyan was injured.
The 34-year-old has been out of action for two weeks, which was confirmed by the club’s head coach, Bashiru Hayford.
The Royals suffered another loss at home to the Ebusua Dwarfs on matchday six at Accra Sports Stadium.
The result leaves them last in the league table with one point.
Gyan, who joined the club in a big money move on the day of the transfer deadline, has yet to impress as he continues to fight for his fitness level.
Speaking at the post-game conference, Bashiru Hayford said: “He’s injured, he can’t play. He went to the physical therapist and they gave him two weeks without being able to kick a ball.”
The Black Stars’ all-time top scorer will miss Premier League games against Liberty Professionals and WAFA on matchdays seven and eight, respectively.
Legon Cities has yet to win in the current campaign.
