Former Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has revealed that his book, which has yet to be published, will serve as a source of encouragement for young people and generations to come.
The former top scorer for Sunderland and Al Ain also confirmed that the launch will be in three countries: Ghana, the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates (Dubai).
Proceeds will go to the Asamoah Gyan Foundation.
The President of Ghana, HE Akufo-Addo, and the President of Liberia, George Oppon Weah, a former FIFA Ballon d’Or winner, have been selected as special guests for the inaugural event in Accra.
Gyan says his book tells of his soccer history – from his childhood to his illustrious career – and his new life as an entrepreneur.
Speaking at a press event in Accra, the Ghana FA president praised the country’s all-time top scorer.
“The GFA under my leadership will ensure that Asamoah Gyan’s legacy is protected in this country.”
“He stood out as a legend and the GFA under my leadership will ensure that Asamoah Gyan’s legacy is protected and produces more legends.”
Gyan returned to the Ghana Premier League and joined Legon Cities FC, but his campaign has been hampered by recurring injuries.
