Marsch expects Szoboszlai’s departure in January
Red Bull Salzburg manager Jesse Marsh believes that Arsenal’s goal Dominik Szoboszlai will move into the January transfer window.
The Hungarian midfielder has established himself as one of the most talented young players in Europe over the past 18 months.
This season, he already has one goal and five assists to his name in seven league games. This follows nine goals and ten assists in 27 league games last season.
And that shape is the reason Marsch expects Szoboszlai to leave the Austrian champion in January, with a number of clubs tied for a transfer.
“Yes,” Marsh told the Soccer Podcast when asked if the 20-year-old would be leaving in January. “The reality is that a guy like Dominik Szoboszlai is likely to have a lot of suitors this winter.
“He’s an incredible talent, and I say this: when you coach young players, you have to love them and love the fact that they are going to move on and love that they are going to have great opportunities to prove themselves and show how good they are.”
Arsenal offered Xhaka-Eriksen exchange
Arsenal could enact a trade agreement between Granit Xhaka and Christian Eriksen, reportedly in Italy, with Inter Milan coach Antonio Conte willing to sign a defensive midfielder.
Eriksen joined Inter last January from Tottenham Hotspur, but has struggled to gain regular minutes this season. And, according to Corriere dello Sport, through Francesco Porzio, the Denmark creator could go up for sale this winter as the Italian team seeks to recoup the £ 17 million they spent a year earlier.
One reported option is a swap agreement involving Xhaka. The Swiss international is said to be seen as a potential alternative to N’Golo Kante.
Meanwhile, Arsenal need a creative midfielder with Mesut Ozil ruled out of the first team. Xhaka has retired from the starting eleven in recent weeks following the arrival of Thomas Partey, although Mikel Arteta has relied heavily on him during his tenure in North London.
Adebayor urged Partey to join Arsenal
Emmanuel Adebayor has revealed that he urged Thomas Partey to sign with Arsenal over Premier League rivals Manchester United and Chelsea.
Partey moved to Arsenal this summer, and Adebayor, who played for Arsenal, Manchester City and Spurs, admits that he advised the midfielder to choose the north London club.
“He told me that some clubs in England like Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and others have shown interest in him and he needs advice,” Adebayor said at an event in Ghana.
“I advised him to go to Arsenal because I have had the opportunity to play there and I think it will be good for his development.
“Arsenal are more than a club, they are a family and I am impressed with their performances so far in the Premier League.”
