Speculation continues to grow that Arsenal could make a series of moves in the January transfer window as they look to reverse their poor season thus far.
Despite his lousy recent form, coach Mikel Arteta is expected to have time to turn the board around.
But he will likely require funds to spend next month in order to add at least one or two players to his team.
And there could also be a number of expenses as they look to trim some dead wood from the equipment.
Here are all the latest rumors about the Emirates round …
Carragher slams summer signing amid agent dispute
Jamie Carragher harshly criticized Willian’s summer signing for his slow start at the Emirates amid a dispute with the Brazilian’s agent, Kia Joorabchian.
The Liverpool legend told the Telegraph: “Willian was a tremendous player at Chelsea, but handing a 32-year-old a luxurious contract sends a mixed message when a club concentrates on building for the future.
“For me, Willian’s move to Arsenal seems like a last payday for a good player who exceeds his best. It is not the first time that Arsenal have made a signing like this recently ”.
Carragher made a joke earlier this week that Joorabchian has been running Arsenal’s transfer business after several of his clients were signed.
Ozil hopes to move to MLS in January
Frozen midfielder Mesut Ozil is open to joining a club in MLS next summer when his contact expires, according to ESPN.
The German playmaker enters the last six months of his £ 350,000-a-week contract in January and can negotiate directly with foreign clubs in the new year.
DC United and LA Galaxy have been linked with the 32-year-old in the past.
Arsenal will miss the signing of Szoboszlai
Arsenal have taken a major blow in the transfer, as Dominik Szoboszlai is set to seal a signing for RB Leipzig.
The Gunners were reportedly in the running for Szoboszlai’s signing as Mikel Arteta looks for a creative attacking midfielder.
But the north London team will miss it, as the Hungarian international is about to join RB Leipzig, according to Sky Sport Germany.
